History While racing Watercraft in the 785 superstock class in Mt. Pleasant Texas, Joey founder of Effen® Swear Wear Inc. blew his motor. After being towed to his pits he was aware of many kids present so he yelled out "effen racing." I light came on and he and his team mate had come up with their race team name. They previously thought the name would be f/n racing. But they thought people would think that stood for their initials to their last names and would never get it. So Joey spelled it out e-f-f-e-n, which in the Dutch language means smooth, even, balanced. Fellow racers said that if we made Effen® race shirts, they would buy them. So we trade-marked the word Effen®, started Effen® Clothes Inc. And the rest is Effen® history.........
